About My Father

The late Haj Yadullah Rajabian, one of the pioneers of carpet production, ran this art in a new method in the city of Qom. He was born in 1921 and was engaged in carpet weaving when he was 12 years old. At night he studied his lessons. He spent a lot of time for producing a carpet. He painted the threads himself with completely herbal colors. He was very sensitive to the contrast of the colors. He loved his job.

In his designs he benefited by masters such as Mosavver-ul-Molk and Arjang. Weaving woolen carpets he took use of the best-quality sheep wool. He turned the carded wools to thread by his hands. Then he established the first wool weaving and carding factory in Qom. Earlier on that time only woolen carpets were produced in the city of Qom. His late father was the first producer of silk carpet in the city of Qom in 1952. Gradually other people turned to producing silk carpet.

He innovated and designed the most various and unique schemes like “Rose Flower”.

In addition to his artistic character he was a cultural, social, and benevolent person. He was very honorable. In addition to his works of art he left the great and elegant building of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (A.S.) mosque behind as a reminder.

The magnificent building is highly appreciated by Imam of the Age (A.S) and therefore has a very exclusive position in the eyes of Iranian nation.

There are also plenty of books written about this holy place. He deceased in 1985 and was berried in the same holy place he built himself. May God bless his soul.

I am thankful of God and pride that I am the son of a father like him who is the example of a religious, artist, and benevolent person.
